zoom in on grazers

no not me grazing festive foods although that may feature in a December zoom

both the Canadian and Greylag geese are spending a lot of their time grazing the grass beside the river at the moment, in big mixed groups.  They are so used to people from when the hatch that it is no problem that they graze where we walk - they sometimes take a step away or hiss but that's it.

hope you are all keeping warm as you zoom in and out

O-er, they're quite big. aren't they?! Hissing geese can be a bit scary

all our geese are gone.....which is good since all their food would be buried under the snow!!
love this goose with the matching orange beak and legs

How nice to see green grass and a few leaves on the trees! We have snow.
Great ZIZO shots!

I'm with Sian on hissing geese - I remember being scared of the 'goosey ducks' when I was little :). Their markings are wonderfully visible here - great close-up.

Still some leaves on the trees then Helena! Lovely to see the geese grazing. Do they wander on the road!

I didn't think much about hissing geese when I saw your photos, but after reading the comments, I remember a goose that chased my kids across a yard once. They were pretty young, and pretty scared.

Great ZIZO, I love to see them but preferably through a long lens! Hooray, I made it this week. x

Be very careful of Canada Geese - they can be really dangerous especially if they have a nest near by. There's problems over here about where they graze. It makes it really difficult to enjoy parks etc when you are constantly watching what you're walking in.

The geese and ducks in the park near me are so used to people they ignore them. Wookie was teasing Princess about getting her a goose for Christmas dinner on his way home from work ;)
